Reminder: Grandville Honor Society Blood Drive today

The Grandville High School National Honor Society will have a blood drive on Tuesday, July 12th.   The blood drive will be held from 8 am to 2 pm at the Grandville HIgh School, 4700 Canal Ave.   The drive is to support a high school student who has needed blood transfusions.    To make an appointment, go to  www.miblood.org.

Grand Rapids Gymnastics has National Success

Grand Rapids Gymnastics has National Success

Cascade Twp., MI- The U.S. Trampoline and Tumbling Association held its annual National Championship the week of June 20th, 2011 in Charleston, West Virginia. More than 110 teams from across the nation competed for national titles with a total of 1,300 gymnast’s ages 3 to 30 participating in power tumbling, double-mini trampoline and trampoline events.

The Grand Rapids Gymnastics Trampoline & Tumbling Team out of Cascade Township, had fantastic results at the national competition. Three athletes won their events and are now national champions. Hanna Zahm of Allendale won the sub-advanced level double-mini. Brendan McDonald of Forest Hills, competing in his first year, won the sub-advanced trampoline title, and Caleb Smith of Hudsonville won for sub-advanced double-mini. Caleb and Brendan also took home the 1st place team award for sub-advanced double mini. Ant the GRG intermediate girls tumbling team won the 2nd place team trophy.

Now it’s easier than ever to get the word out to your neighbors. Driver dies after vehicle hits home

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WZZM)- Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a crash that killed a driver in Hudsonville.

The minivan crashed into a home in the 6200 block of Balsam Drive around 5 :30 p.m. Saturday. Investigators say no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

They're trying to determine if the driver suffered from a medical condition prior to the accident.

Come to the Gary Byker Memorial Library of Hudsonville on July 12, to see drums from around the world as demonstrated by Greg Secor.  The librbary is located at 3338 Van Buren St. The audience will get a chance to play too.
