Bagels are key to success for local man

GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WZZM)- As the saying goes, necessity is the mother of all invention. That could not be more true for local entrepreneur, Benjamin Robinson who turned his hardship into a now thriving business.

Those who know Robinson describe him as the epitome of perseverance, mostly because when Robinson got down on his luck he decided to make his own.

"I said hey what do I have to lose," said Robinson.

In the wee hours of the morning, before, even the sun is ready to rise, Robinson and a small but efficient crew can be found in hard at work in kitchen leased out of the back of a Grandville restaurant. The men start at at 10 p.m. and spend the next several hours "rolling in the dough."

"We are in the stage where everything is now beyond what we expected," he said. "We are excited about what we are doing ."
