Don't miss this FREE performance of "Singing the Good Old Songs Again" by Gary Brandt and Jackie Davidson! Gary and Jackie combine "classic" and original folk songs into an energetic, entertaining, and fun show called "Singing the Good Old Songs Again". Personal insight, humor, and stories, are shared along with the songs they sing to create a very memorable musical experience that you won't want to miss!

Jackie Davidson is a former member of the Grammy Award winning "The New Christy Minstrels". Gary Brandt is a popular folklorist, singer and songwriter in his beloved state of Michigan. Jackie and Gary have been performing across the country together since Spring of 2010.

If you want it, we’ve got it! At the Grandville Public Library, we are committed to providing the popular materials that you would like to read, listen to, or view.  Look what’s new this month:

49th Hudsonville Community Fair

The 49th Hudsonville Fair will be held Monday, August 22nd thru Saturday, August 27th.   Gates will open on Monday at noon with a reduced fee of $2.   When the gates open on Tuesday at 8am the regular entry fee will be $3.  The Pirate's Island Kids show with costumes, music and audience participation will be Monday thru Friday at 1, 4 & 7pm; at noon, 3 and 5pm on Saturday.    The barns will be full of many animals for viewing and the 4-H Auction will be Thrusday afternoon when 4-H project animals are sold.   There will be free music every evening for your enjoyment.   Saturday will be the NPTA Grand National and Region 2 truck and tractor pull,  off road races, supercross racing and the demolition derby Saturday night.    A full schedule of events and pricing can be found at www.hudsonvillecommfair.com or call 669-1630.

Digital Bookmobile visits the Grandville Public Library
The Digital Bookmobile is a community outreach vehicle for public libraries to promote downloadable eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video. Developed inside a 74-foot, 18-wheel tractor-trailer, the nationally touring vehicle is a high-tech update of the traditional bookmobile that has served communities for decades.

If you want to learn more about the library of the future, plan to visit the Digital Bookmobile when it makes a stop at KDL. Check out the nationally touring vehicle, a 74-foot, 18-wheel tractor-trailer, and learn how to download books and audiobooks from KDL. The Digital Bookmobile will visit the Grandville branch from 2:00 – 6:00 pm on Monday, August 22 and the Wyoming branch from 2:00 – 6:00 pm on Tuesday, August 23.

In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of tireless, little yellow minions, we discover Gru planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon. Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.
