Dear Parents,

It is with gratitude that I thank our students, parents, staff and community for an outstanding school year. A strong commitment to excellence is seen daily and those efforts make Jenison High School an amazing place to learn. The growth and learning experiences that took place throughout 2011-12 have prepared our students well for the next year. I am confident that Jenison students will be leaders in our community, whether that is 10th, 11th, 12th grade, entering college, trade school, the military, or the work force.

I am pleased to share just a few of our recent successes:

• U.S News and Washington Post named Jenison High School as one of "America's Best High Schools"
• Honors Night scholarships and awards totaled nearly $3,000,000 for our 2012 graduates
• JHS was again named "Best Communities for Music Education" in 2011-12

On Thursday, May 31, 366 graduates received their diplomas at our Commencement Ceremony in the Kamstra Gymnasium. While it was raining outside, our graduates shined during a wonderful celebration for our senior Class of 2012. We wish all of our graduates the vey best!

As we move into the summer months we are excited about some construction that will be taking place in the high school. Thanks to our community and your support of our bond issue this last spring, we will be updating our media center and making it into a 21st century learn center with many amazing features. We anticipate these updates being finished and ready as we welcome back our students in September!
