Taste of Grandville Returns Monday

Along with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Grandville Education Foundation, the Taste of Grandville Fundraiser returns for the 15th year.

Treat your family to an evening of delightful food from a variety of participating restaurants on Monday, March 7 from 5:30pm-8:00pm at Grandville High School located at 4700 Canal Avenue SW. Experience musical performances by ECHO, the Eighth Grade Chamber Orchestra & the Grandville Public Schools Jazz Bands.

Tickets are $10 for adult tasting passport, $2.50 kid’s 10 & under or $25 for a Family Passport, includes 2 tasting tickets & 2 kid’s meals (hot dog, chips & bottled water).

The Grand Haven Masonic Center Lodge #139 invites the community to a delightful breakfast to benefit Boy Scout Troup 246. The last Saturday of the month, the Grand Haven Masonic Center members offer pancakes, sausage, juice & coffee.

Bring the family to 344 Fulton Street on Saturday, February 27 from 8:00am – 10:30am for friendly conversation and a tantalizing breakfast.

Cost: $5/adults, $3/children, 12 & under, $15 for 2 parents & their children.

Free Fishing Weekend Coming Up

For the Valentine’s weekend, it’s a free fishing weekend for residents and out of state visitors.

All fishing license fees are waived for two days in Michigan, February 13 & 14 from 6:00am – 10:00pm. This allows fishing enthusiasts to enjoy the chance to catch all types of fish on both inland and Great Lakes’ waters during their respective open season. Just remember that all regulations still apply.

Pacers Junior Wheelchair Basketball Team looking for Donations

Grand Rapids Junior Pacers Wheelchair Basketball Team. This special group of people are looking for donations to support their cause.

On November 7 & 8, they will be playing basketball at the Rockford Middle School to make money to help with the expenses they incur when they travel as a team. This season they are traveling to Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Tennessee and Kentucky for national competition. Any money they make will go for equipment along with travel expenses.

School Supply Santa collecting again

School Supply Santa collecting again

The School Supply Santa all started eight years ago, thanks to Denise Kooiker of Byron Center, MI. Once again she is asking for your donations for kids in the Grand Rapids areas to start the upcoming school year.

Donations are distributed to administrators at schools in Byron Center, Kentwood, Wyoming, Kelloggsville, Godwin, Godfrey-Lee and Vista Charter Academy. Adding to the list this year are Rockford and Grandville schools.

Donations of backpacks and all school supplies can be dropped off at all the Kent District Library branches, local Starbucks and Biggby coffee houses, Talsma Furniture stores, Macatawa Banks, Byron Community Recreation and Gaines Township Hall. Beer, Bands and BBQ start the Celebration July 3rd in Grandville for the 4th of July

July 3rd starts the celebration for the 4th of July in Grandville, MI when the 2nd Annual Beer, Band and BBQ kicks off in downtown Grandville, near the Library parking lot from 4:00 – 11:00pm.

People of all ages are welcome to join in with the live music and dinner served from 4:00 – 8:00pm with a variety of BBQ food items from $2.00 - $10.00. The live music will continue until 11:00pm but you must be 21 years of age to be in the Beer Tent after 8:00pm. Feel free to bring along a lawn chair to sit around the outside of the tent.

A variety of beer, wine coolers and Osgood Brewing will offer Sol Seeker and Journey. One hundred 2015 Beer, Band and BBQ decorative mugs will be sold for $5.00. VFW Post 702 will have flags and jewelry available for small donations for the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
