Jenison's 14th Annual "Your Change Can Change Hunger" Drive Ends Tomorrow

Jenison's 14th Annual "Your Change Can Change Hunger" Drive Ends Tomorrow

From November 7th through tomorrow, November 18th, Jenison Public Schools students are continuing a long-standing tradition. They are participating in their 14th Annual "Your Change Can Change Hunger" fund collection drive to benefit the Degage Ministries food pantry. Over this two week period, student council groups have been enthusiastically organizing events and joining with their classmates to raise funds.

Since 1998, the change drive by Jenison students has helped to fund Degage's food pantry for the entire year - making a difference and "changing" hunger for 100 families each year in one of the poorest areas of Grand Rapids.

If you would like to be involved, drop a check off either today or tomorrow at any of the participating buildings which include Bauerwood, Bursley, Pinewood and Rosewood Elementaries, Jenison Junior High and Jenison High School. Contributions made by check payable to FEEDING AMERICA qualify for a 50% Michigan Food Bank tax credit.

Santa's Reindeer will be coming to town this November. The community will be able to find these live reindeer at City Hall where kids and adults alike will gather to celebrate the holidays, following the Hudsonville Holiday Parade.

The parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 19, 2011, starting at 10 am, and will run from Highland Dr., down 32nd Ave, to Central Blvd. Festivities at City Hall will commence immediately following the parade.

"This is a great way to ring in the holiday season with friends and family, while staying close to home and far from difficult parking!"
