UPDATE: Missing Jenison children found

UPDATE (11:15 p.m. Tuesday)-- The search for a pair of missing Jenison area boys is over.

Lt. Mark Bennett with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says Kent County deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Wade Charlson on M-21 near Lowell just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.  The children-- Jack, 6, and Colt, 4-- were found safe in the vehicle and are in the process of being reunited with their mother.

Bennett says Charlson is in police custody awaiting a mental health evaluation.  The case will be handed over to the Ottawa County prosecutor who will decide if criminal charges are warranted.

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Ottawa County deputies are looking for a Holland man wanted for the parental kidnapping of his two sons from the Jenison area.

They say the case was reported around 10:30 p.m. Monday from a home on Oak Hollow Drive in Georgetown Township.

Deputies say Wade Charlson, 37, took his son from a supervised visit without permission.  Charlson does not have legal custody of the children, according to investigators.

The boys -- Jack, 6, and Colt, 4 -- and their father are believed to be headed to the Ionia area in a black 2001 Kia Spectra with Michigan license plate DDU 1656.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department at 616-738-4000
