Agema honored by small business

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Rep. Dave Agema today has been named a "Guardian of Small Business" by the National Federation of Independent Business for his 100-percent voting record this session on issues important to small businesses.

"Michigan families need jobs and I keep that in mind with every vote I take in the state House," said Agema, R-Grandville. "Too often government gets in the way of job growth, and that is unacceptable. It is an honor to be recognized by small businesses, and I will continue fighting in Lansing to protect our tax dollars and our state job creators."

Agema voted in favor of small businesses on a range of issues from tax and budget to regulatory and labor legislation.

"We are honored and delighted to recognize Rep. Agema," said NFIB State Director Charlie Owens. "Clearly he understands the important role that small business plays in providing jobs and economic development in his community."

Jenison football leads effort to raise $100,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jenison, Michigan - The Jenison Football Program has again dedicated its season to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) in order to raise awareness for the men and women who have given such a great sacrifice for our country to maintain our freedoms.

After a successful season dedication in 2009 where the football program raised $9,000 for WWP, in 2010, Jenison decided to lead a country wide effort to have 100 schools raise $1,000 in order to provide the Wounded Warrior Project with $100,000.

Jenison will celebrate its WWP dedication at the game on Friday September 17 against West Ottawa.  The game will be one of over 35 dedications occurring across West Michigan and the Country this week as a result of Jenison Football’s leadership.

The Jenison Football team will be joined by the Kent County Honor Guard, the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans and the Georgetown Township Fire Department.
