Grandville High School Theater present Euripides’ The Women of Troy

From: http://gpsblogs.org/ghstheater/

This fall Grandville High School Theater is proud to present Euripides’ The Women of Troy, an ancient Greek tragedy set in the days immediately following the fall of the city of Troy at the hands of the Greek conquerors.  The story centers around Hecuba, once queen of Troy but now a captive to be taken by Ulysses back to Greece, and the other women and children who have up to now survived the slaughter.

You won’t want to miss this production, which mixes elements of  ancient and drama with modern music and video, and is recommended for those 13 and older.  It will be a historic moment on the Grandville High School stage: the first ever staging of ancient Greek tragedy in GHS history!

Dates: November 18, 19, and 20

Time: 7:00 p.m.

Cost: $6.00 for students and seniors, $8.00 for adults

Hudsonville Public School Board unanimously supports building recommendation

From: http://www.hudsonville.k12.mi.us

At its November 11 meeting, the Hudsonville Public School Board of Education unanimously supported a recommendation brought forth by the Facilities Study Committee. The recommendation was to move forward on a potential building project that keeps Hudsonville High School one school with two adjacent buildings on its current campus at 32nd Street.

The recommendation relocates South Elementary School and the transportation facility which would make space available for the construction of a new 9th grade plus facility. The new building would be located within close walking distance to the existing high school building. Rather than current practice of bussing 9th grade students to access upper level courses, this new configuration will allow all high school students to maximize curricular offerings.
