JPS Senior High - Notes from the Principal

From: http://www.jpsonline.org

Dear Parents:

I would like to congratulate our students and staff on an outstanding start to the 2010-2011 school year. It is hard to believe that we are already one month into things, but I am already impressed with each of our classes, their commitment to excellence, their "Attitude of Pride" on campus. The school spirit in the building is impressive and we are certainly proud of our students!

Each month we will be honoring our seniors for their success in the classroom and their determination to make JHS an amazing place for all. The seniors that were honored for the month of September are:

Korey Clement, Tyler Hoezee, Brandon Sikkenga, and Nikki Trammell

Each of them exemplifies the character and tenacity that represents Jenison High School at the highest level.

Conference Co-Champions

From: http://www.grandville.k12.mi.us/

The varsity tennis team earned a share of the OK Red Conference Championship on October 2 in a tie with West Ottawa. Both teams earned 42 points at the conference tournament at Grand Haven High School. The teams also tied 4-4 at their conference match earlier in the season. Congratulations!

GPS - Focused on the Future

From: http://www.grandville.k12.mi.us

Each spring, hundreds of our high school students participate in the Advanced Placement (AP) testing program. These students challenge themselves by taking rigorous college level courses and exams while still in high school. Based on the student's scores, most public and private colleges grant credit for the exams, which could save considerable money in tuition costs. Students who score a three or above on a five point scale earn potential college credit for the course depending upon the university they eventually attend.

Grandville High school currently offers 12 AP courses for our students. "We continue to be pleased with the number of students taking advantage of this rigorous curriculum," said Assistant Principal Brad Lusk.

At 4:30 there will be a dunk tank (where you will be able to dunk Mr. Gillette), inflatables, and face painting. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction.
