Workers return to Brookcrest for first time since flooding evacuations

Workers return to Brookcrest for first time since flooding evacuations

GRANDVILLE, Mich.—Employees of Brookcrest Rehabilitation and  Life Center are preparing for the return of residents,  forced from their homes by recent flooding.

On April 18, the Brook Creek spilled into the senior community, forcing all 122 residents to evacuate. Ambulances and vans lined up to transport the residents to other facilities in the area.

Brookcrest social workers and nurses are regularly visiting the residents during their temporary displacement.  Several of Brookcrest’s certified nursing aids are also working daily inside the other facilities.

On April 30, the Brookcrest admissions staff moved back into their building.  They expect to announce when residents can officially return within the next few days.
